The Black Tux gave us the idea to discuss our thoughts on wedding trends in fashion for grooms and brides. It got me thinking, and pinning, and dreaming of all of my favorite looks I have been seeing this year. So I thought we would share some of our personal favorites, from dress designers to tuxedo options for your groom and table top decor.
2017 is all about the green ! For the past three years pink has ruled the wedding world and its about time another color step in. We love green because its an earthy natural color, it photographs well and it makes peoples skin tones look great in photos ! Well ….the right green. So here are some great shades and ideas to get you started.
We love this Banana Leaf Pocket Square from the Black Tux for grooms ! So fun and so 2017. Just a touch of trendy but not so much that you will regret it for your wedding. And you could always switch it out from ceremony to reception.
One of our favorite wedding dress designers this year is Odylyne the Ceremony. If you haven’t checked out her bridal gowns yet you need to do yourself a favor and go look now !
We had a chance to photograph one of her bridal gowns in Malibu and it was a dream !
We love the idea of pairing a bohemian look with a more upscale formal look for your groom. Actually mixing modern elements and more natural bohemian elements throughout your wedding can be a fun way to stay a little classic and have a little fun at the same time. Check out this Black and White Tux you can rent from The Black Tux that would totally fit this theme. To see more wedding trends for grooms check out their wedding tuxedos page.
Another favorite wedding trend we have been seeing is minimalist design. Less is more and brides and grooms are starting to catch on. All you really need are some good taper candles !
But if you just want a little more then check out this beautiful lush green themed wedding table decor from Style Me Pretty
When you are picking your venue think of it as an extension of your design. With the right venue and location you might not even need to decorate much at all ! Check out this beautiful garden arch below. It was make the perfect backdrop for some wedding portraits. ( from Style Me Pretty )
And how good would this Tux look at that location ? The jacket is black velvet. Velvet is so hot right now and I love it. Rent this tux here https://theblacktux.com/collection/tuxedos/velvet-jacket
Another Wedding Gown Designer to be on the lookout for is Yolan Cris ! I mean look at these details.
This minimalist inspired wedding cake was a design I came up with alongside Carla from Honey Crumb Cake Studio. It has song lyrics from a love song embossed into the frosting. How cool is that ! You could also do a sentence from your vows. This fits right along with the minimalist theme.
Last but not least, Rue De Siene Bridal ‘s Bohemian Wedding Gowns are making out heart skip a beat. We got to shoot one a few months ago and are now huge fans !
This suit from The Black Tux would look so good with the Rue De Siene gown above.
Meet “Williw” from Odylyne The Ceremony. If you are having an outdoor wedding this beauty would blow so beautiful in the wind and create the most dramatic portraits ! Check it out here https://odylynetheceremony.com/products/willow
And if you are a bold and feminine bride go for another fun new trend, the Floral Wedding Gown ! Its just awesome. Or just put the flowers on your man (his tie, bow tie etc) and call it a day.
And that concludes, fashion tips from some wedding photographers ! Happy Planning !
